As a part of the Plaza Theatre's 70th Anniversary Celebration they decided to run some of the movies that the Plaza opened with such as "The Wizard of Oz" and "Gone With The Wind". I decided to go to The Wizard of Oz showing because not only were they planning to have some of the characters from the movie but they also had one of the original munchkins, Karl Slover. Karl Slover now 91, signed autographs and spoke to the crowd about some of the memories he had while on the set of the Wizard of Oz. Also, Alcove Contemporary Gallery owner, Chris Warner was dressed as one of my favorite characters the flying monkey!
