Fortunately, hurricane Irene did not visit Atlanta but we had our own storm a-brewing right here at Chastain Saturday night. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals hit the stage with about as much force as any hurricane can muster. With all of her beauty, multi-instrument playing talent, a boat load of energy and power house vocals she brought a true rock and roll show and the Nocturnals did an excellent job keeping up.
The not-so-quiet before the storm was the opening act, The Wood Brothers, featuring Atlanta’s own Oliver Wood and his brother Chris. They dished up a big serving of American roots music with slide guitar and stand up bass and the audience ate it up. Credit: Jolee Hooper
